Afonso Tomás Rodrigues Martins was born in the year of 2002 on Madeira Island, and is a prominent Portuguese composer. His work extends from a large variety between concert music to original film soundtracks, and his pieces vary between orchestral, chamber, solo and choral. Despite being at the beginning of his career, Martins has already won several awards, such as Prémio Jovens Talentos by Madeira Conservatory. His music has been directed by great renowned maestros in Portugal and also abroad, such as Paulo Vassalo Lourenço, Evan Alexis-Christ, Maria de Fátima Nunes, Dorina Frati, among others.
